The Kenya Alliance of Resident Associations (KARA) is honoured to be among the Presidential Awardees during the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Taxpayers’ Day 2016.

At an event organized by KRA on 28th October 2016 to celebrate taxpayers in Kenya, KARA received the Distinguished Taxpayers 2016 Award for Rental Income Awareness. This award is as a result of the partnership KARA had with KRA to promote public awareness and education on Tax Amnesty on Rental Income and the simplified tax rates across the country.

Residents Dialogue Forums were held in various Counties to educate and sensitize Resident Associations and the wider public on the KRA Tax Amnesty initiative as well as promote voluntary compliance to tax payment. Due to the partnership, KRA registered significant improvement on its revenue collection from rental income. We are happy to have contributed towards building taxpayers trust through facilitation for enhanced tax compliance. We appreciate our members, partners and friends who made this achievement possible.Â
