National Cohesion: Kenya is at its worst security index - NCIC Chairman Francis Ole Kaparo

According to The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) Chairman Mr. Francis Ole Kaparo, Kenya is at its worst cohesion index just few months to the general elections. The index is at 40 per cent compared to 2012, a year before the 2013 general elections, when the index was at 56 per cent. He revealed this during Kara’s 49th Bimonthly Talk Series forum when he addressed participants on Kenya’s national cohesion and integration status. He warned that come 2017, Kenya should brace itself for possible violence emanating from counties' leadership wrangles. The situation is made worse by the fact that leaders and Kenyans in general don’t want to talk about the divisions and come up with a solution...Read_More

However, this is bound to change as the Government is putting measures in place to ensure development of complete streets in Kenya’s urban areas. This was revealed during a policy dialogue forum on complete streets and urban design guidelines organized by Kara in partnership with the Center for Sustainable Urban Development (CSUD) of Columbia University, New York...Read_More

Kara Annual General Meeting & Subscription Payment

The FY2016/17 Budget Estimates as read by the Cabinet Secretary, Henry Rotich will lead to difficult economic times for the ordinary Kenyan. The cost of living is set to rise significantly with the introduction of excise duty on kerosene which is used by nearly 70% of Kenyans. The explanation that the tax is intended to addresses the issue of adulterated kerosene is in itself an indictment of the government institutions charged with the role of ensuring proper standards and quality for goods and services in our markets.
