The Association for Research on Civil Society in Africa (AROCSA) held its annual conference on 27th to 29th July 2017 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The conference under the theme “Africa in a Changing Global Context: People, Production and Politics” brought together scholars and practitioners in the civil society, to network, learn and build their skills on diverse areas. AROCSA seeks to promote and advance a community of excellence in research and practice on civil society in the service of African development. Kara was represented at the conference by the Chief Executive Officer who made a presentation on the subject: “Mechanism to measure performance of public officials”. The lessons, networks and skills gained at the conference will be key in promoting Kara’s agenda not only in Kenya but also across the Africa continent. Kara has formally joined membership of AROCSA and will actively participate in its activities that are of benefit to the Alliance
